Code for Good works with local nonprofit organizations to provide a pro-bono technical consulting service. We pair teams of 2-4 MIT students in computer science with organizations to provide advice and help regarding all sorts of technical matters, such as maintaining blog or CMS installations, hosting servers, giving advice on what software to use, and so on.
Students work closely with nonprofit organizations, spending roughly 1-2 hours per week giving advice and working on technical tasks.
We meet once a week throughout the semester to get work done. (We have mentors and snacks at these meetings!)
The length of the engagement between the nonprofit, Code for Good, and the student is a single semester, but often, students continue with the consulting program through multiple semesters.
Applications for the Spring 2017 consulting program are currently open! Apply here (due 2/13 at 11:59pm).
